11 Trimesters to go!

December 9 marked the beginning of our eleventh trimester! Lots has happened during our first trimester and - with the exception of the one (still) lost packet - things are going smoothly! The first one went by pretty quickly - hopefully the next 11 will as well.

Currently we are waiting to receive our first packet from immigration - which will be instructions on how to get fingerprinted by the FBI at the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services office. That should arrive soon. We've been told that immigration is backed up by about 4 months, so we are looking forward to hearing from them.

As far as the lost packet from the Secretary of States office - I made a second call to them on Tuesday and was told again that nothing had been returned and there was no tracking number. We are still praying it will show up, but are also compiling that paperwork once again just in case. Yesterday we received our Home Study back from the Secretary of State. We will send it on to the Houston Consulate for final sealing after Christmas - I do not want to take a chance of it getting lost in the Christmas shuffle at the Post Office. Seven Chinese Seals down - 5 to go!

Hello Martins, we are neighbors of the Waters family and she told me about your site and your adoption journey. We got a chuckle out of your funny Christmas letter. We can totally relate. We are in line also and hope to travel by the end of the summer. It's been 4 years since we started paperwork so we know how you feel. Hoping all the best for you. You can contact me through my blog if you'd like to.
